F.A.Q.
How is my hair tested?
Your hair is tested using an EAV (electroacupuncture according to Voll) machine. When your hair is exposed to various test samples in vials, the machine measures the electromagnetic energy. The EAV testing technology was first developed by a German physician named Reinhold Voll in Europe in the late 1950's.
How do I cut a hair sample?
The hair is best taken from the nape of a person/child's neck. Approximately two x 4-5cm long sections with a width of 0.5-1cm is required (the size of two match sticks), and taken from two different areas of the nape of the neck.
If a person has long hair the extra older hair can be cut off, and just the new hair taken from close to the scalp is best. If there is not enough hair on a head, then cutting clean underarm hair, chest or pubic hair can be provided.

NOTE: You are wanting a small palm size collection of hair / dessert spoon. It is important to not cut the hair so it is noticeable once taken.
Does it matter if my hair has recently been coloured?
Coloured hair does not affect the results of your test, however I recommend waiting a week if you have recently permed or coloured your hair.
My baby does not have much hair, what do I do?
It is possible to test your baby's hair (even if it is very short), by shaving it. Often the nape of the neck will have the most. A small amount can still be used if that is all that is available.
Does it matter if my hair is unwashed?
It is recommended to provide a recently washed hair sample – however waiting 3-4 hours after washing is best, and before any hair products are added.
What do I do with the hair?
Place each person(s) hair sample into a separate envelope, seal it and write :
YOUR NAME
DATE OF BIRTH
DATE HAIR SAMPLE TAKEN
FROM: The Good Health Room
Place that envelope(s) into another envelope ready to be sent in the post.
The details for postage will be displayed during payment.
How long will my test take to come back?
Depending on when you post your sample, it generally takes 4-5 weeks.
What will I receive back?
You will receive an emailed in-depth report (approximately 5-10 pages) of what you/your family member is showing an intolerance to.
Why do I need a Follow-Up?
A Follow-Up provides the information to guide you in the 'what' and 'why' of your results. This will help you know what to do next without any guess work in trying to understand the results, or misinterpreting them incorrectly.
