The GI360™ Profile is a NEW comprehensive test from DoctorsData (in America). It is a gut microbiota DNA analysis tool that identifies and characterises the abundance and diversity of more than 45 targeted analytes (e.g. Streptococcus app, Escherichia app) that peer-reviewed research has shown to contribute to dysbiosis (imbalance of gut flora) and other chronic disease states.
The GI360™ can identify the presence of 15 pathogenic viruses, bacteria, and parasites. Viruses are the primary cause of acute diarrhoea, and the least commonly tested. Testing for the identification of pathogenic bacteria, viruses and parasites improves treatment strategies and patient outcomes.
The GI360™ Microbiome test uses Dysbiosis Index (DI) – it is a calculation for scores (1 to 5) based on the overall bacterial abundance and profile within a stool sample as compared to a reference population. Values above 2 indicate a microbiota profile that differs from the defined 'normal' reference population (i.e., dysbiosis is occurring). The higher the DI above 2, the more the sample is considered to deviate from normobiosis.
There are three available tests:
- GI360 Complete
- GI360 Essentials
